A receipt is desirable but not a necessity.

"I have purchased some faulty goods, but unfortunately I have lost the receipt. The trader says that, because I do not have a receipt, I do not have any rights. Is he right?"

No! You do not have to produce a receipt in order to pursue a claim for faulty goods. However, under the law, you are required to prove that you purchased the product. Therefore, if you paid by cash, a receipt may be the only proof that you have.

Hope this helps...

Or write to them, copy and paste and replace the bits with your details

REJECTING FAULTY GOODS

Dear Sir/Madam

REF: XYZ CD PLAYER/Sub/etc

On 1st March 2003, I bought a XYZ CD player from your Anytown branch. Now, nine days after purchase, the player is completely defective, and none of the functions are operating.

On complaining to the shop manager, he told me that I had to return goods within seven days, and that it was now the manufacturer's problem. The Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) requires you to supply goods of satisfactory quality. I must be given a reasonable length of time to examine the goods before accepting them. I think that nine days is still within a reasonable time, and that this fault means that the CD player is not satisfactory. Further, as I bought the goods from you, my contract is with you, not with the manufacturer.

Therefore, I am notifying you that I am rejecting the goods based on your breach of contract, and request a full refund of my money within 14 days of the date of this letter.

Yours faithfully, etc.

Basically if you are in the right then u should be able to talk anyone around.....I have done it so many times. It is sometimes referred to as a blag........

If you put ya mind to it then almost anything can be moved in your advantage court.

If it's an electrical item then ask them to cross reference the seriel numbers and that will prove its age and date of sale. Ipso facto if within warrenty then you should then have the details on computer there as a bargaining tool......

Good Luck with it. and don't take no for an answer.....

.... Also the connection method to the amplifier, even though they are

in series are you sure that the coils are wired in phase ?

At 8 Ohms the amplifier would be 100W @ 14.4V. The amplifier is designed to

run with a 2 Ohm load and will then produce 350W @ 14.4V.

how should it be then

from the amp the +ve should go to one coil and the -ve to the other coil

the two coils are the connected together again over the unused +ve and -ve terminals

that would make it 8Ohms I think, but they have wired it as 2Ohms
