My B9004 head unit finally got upgraded to a media unit, thanks also to Andy for his usefull help.

Now I can watch TV, DVDs and play MP3s with the aid of a DVB-T tuner, CD changer emulator and a basic relay circuit I build myself.

This is the tuner used

Note that when playing MP3 files ONLY CD and track numbers are shown and no artist and song name are shown, this is because the B9004 is not capable of showing such info, but I'm quite happy that I have all these features now in my unit.

Sound and picture are SUPERB, didn't aspect it was going to be that clear, the only issue is the safety warning display at the bottom when on TV or DVD mode but not that boring.

Feel free to ask any questions regarding installation should you be interested.

That's brilliant mate, I want one.....

Does you unit display cd text from normal audio cds

Yes from audio CDs inserted in the unit it can display text such as song name and author but when on multi CD, ie from USB stick, only track and CD numbers are shown.

Antennas fit to rear door.

although the reception is very good, these antennas tend to be directional so considering changing them to omni directional roof mounts.

Do you think your set up would work on the B9010 unit.

Your set looks fantastic

If not mistaken the difference between the B9004 and B9010 is that the latter has a HDD and a USB input but all rear connections are similar so I believe the setup would work on a B9010, but our friend SHCM on the forum here can advice better.

Thanks for that. We've got 2 Rav's in mine I've got the Pioneer AVIC-F910BT Nav unit, which does basically everything that you've done on yours so all good there

The mrs' has the B9010 and it's a nightmare 2 keep kids entertained in her Rav I might get back to you if you don't mind for advice if I ever get round to doing it

Thanks again

Ash

No problem mate, always here ready to help you whenever needed. For sure the kids would love it as mine, I have two as well, always want to watch dvd's when on the ride, the thing is that I have to watch whatever they want to but at least they stay quite and don't argue between themselves.

Nice job James. I'll send you my consultancy fees later ;).

I believe the B9010 is still DVD based. B9017 in the RAV is HDD. I don't have a picture of the rear connectors for the B9010. I'd need at least that to attempt to work out the video (camera) input.
