Also I took off the number plate camera as everyone was telling me it looked tacky and cheap so I decided to replace it with the parking sensor type camera, looks pretty neat now and looks professional

You don't need to get your hand in there. You can attach the cable to some metal wire and push it through until it reaches the hole.

The camera looks great btw! Haven't seen such one before...

Im just wondering, which 501 light would look good with mtec cosmos blue ? or 6000k HID?

any ideas?

Most of them match very well, because they usually have the same colour as the 6000K HIDs. Otherwise no one would buy them :)

ok so i started the door handle lights today, got one door finished front passenger side, god it looks wicked, nice blue matches the xenons. cant post any pics as the camera doesnt really pick anything up in the dark.

few issues/problems:

1: anyone know how to remove the rear exterior door handles??

2: couldnt get the wiring through the grommet so i wrapped it around the grommet on the outside, doesnt look too bad, not noticable anyway :)

honestly if someone wants to do any light mods, this one should be on your list.

When a front door is opened a small black plastic cover can be noticed above the latch; remove it, and with a torx T30 undo screw that keeps the small part of handle in place which contains lock cylinder too; then remove handle. For rear door handle, screw that holds the small part of handle can be removed from inside the door, rear doors have not those small round shape plastic covers that front doors have.

Probably not the relevant thread to ask but anyways I was thinking today does the 2.2 auris have the same breaks(the full breaking system) as the 2.0???? I really don't like my breaks :(

No idea. Seen a brake upgrade to 330mm. £900 tho! I'm not that keen on my ones either n my car is the 2.2

Well, you can just upgrade your discs and pads if you want more stopping power, it's not that expensive.

I believe the full braking system is different between the 2.0 and 2.2 because the 2.2 has vsc - the eba (emergency brake assist) is mechanical on one and electronic on the other. I can't remember which was which though.

(I'm talking about the brake booster)

Has anyone managed to source out any braided hoses for Auris yet?

Hydraulic specialist will make hoses for up you and may well be cheaper than ready made ones.

Never had one made up for a car brakes but had them made for things like heavy plant and engine external oil pipes and the odd projuct.

Years ago when i worked at Lotus Cars we used to make them up ourselves.on some of the formula cars.

You'd have thought HEL or Goodridge would make them for the Auris, but no apparently not

Yeah it's not very popular car among modders. Not as much parts as for Corollas... :(

If they had made a hot petrol it would of been. It's still a fairly new car. Few more years we might see something when the car is cheaper and more affordable.

Just had a thought. What other cars use this braking system? Maybe u can get braided hoses for them? Maybe a Lexus or something?

Very clever, never thought about that actually. At least Rav4 I think... But no braided hoses for that model neither I guess :D

Hi everyone !

I had 19 LEDs ba15s for reversing bulb , it was bright , but not enough distance , so I tried the Cree and the same effect . Bright but does not give enough distance .

Anyone knows any decent bright and good distance reversing bulbs ?

Also ,'I blew my cig lighter fuse , I looked behind the glove box , and I was so lost finding the fuse box , can anyone load a picture of what it looks like and where ?

Many thanks !!!

It's not the bulbs, it's the desihn of your reflector inside the lamp unit. It is not designed to reflect the light beam far away, but only to make it noticeable for other drivers. All you can do is go even brighter and brighter. The next step would be fitting HIDs in there.

For fuse box, please see this.
