Electronic owners manuals are available to download in pdf format for some Toyota models by accessing the following link: https://www.toyota.co.uk/tme#/my-toyota/eManual.

Manuals are currently available for models made from May 2011(Hybrid from March 2012) up to and including the current model.

Thanks for this very useful information. The printed manual supplied with mine has only 120 pages and omits a lot of detail. I discovered this when I wanted to know how the 3 position interior light switch operates. Not a mention apart from a diagram showing where the switch and the lights are. It doesn't even show where the 12v Battery is located on the hybrid model.

The online version has 464 pages and is much more like I would expect an owners manual for a new car to be.

Think Toyota only supply a condensed printed version of the manual with new cars now, but as far as I'm aware the supplying dealer should make new owners aware they can download the complete manual.

Don't know about the exact situation atm but my last 2 Avensis have had 2 manuals with the car - a Quick Start & a Full Manual .

Yes, perhaps just a little too condensed! To be fair the dealers did tell me on handover that the manual was now a shorter version than they used to provide and there is a reference to http://www.my.toyota.eu on the back cover although there is no mention of a more comprehensive manual online.
