Had To Replace New Exhaust After Nearly 4 Months

I just had to replace the rear exhaust system after nearly 4 months. The resonator which sits near the centre of the car was really loud.

Got the car up the ramps and sure enough the resonator was sounding like it had a blow internally.

Euro Car Parts where I bought it from said I can bring it back for a replacement - straight swap. Lucky I kept the original exhaust so i put it back on the car and went back to ECP. Even though there is a slight blow in the old exhaust, it is very quiet compared the the new exhaust I was taking back. If could find some body to repair the old exhaust by replacing the small mild steel section.

Any way the replacement has been fitted and it is nearly as quiet as the old exhaust, and not as noisy as the one it replaced.

Hopefully there will not have any more issues. At least the exhaust system was easy to change.

Quick update.

The new exhaust was starting to get noisy, especially after a motorway run.

I thought that the exhaust must be faulty and the Klarius brand not very good so looked at alternatives and options.

The first thing I did was get under the car and look at the joint between the catalytic converter and the rear box. Nothing looked amiss but I decided to try exhaust sealing paste on the joint. The crush gasket is only partially working but now the paste is helping.

I am also looking into flange gasket, but will see how the sealant performs. The sealant can only used on joints after the catalytic converter not before. I was told sealant would not be needed.

The other option was Euroflo exhaust, but the guy in the local shop said that the Klarius on my cay is the better brand. If I went for the Euroflo, it is £10 cheaper.

For now the exhaust is far more quiet than before the sealant fix.

Is there no product that is designed as a sealant for use before the cat? If not a new set of gaskets should sort it out.

All sorted. Smooth and quiet.

Exhaust paste worked perfectly. Crush gaskets need to be correct dimensions. The gasket between the front downpipe and the catalytic converter has been fine from the beginning - both React items. The gasket between catalytic converter and the rear exhaust pipe (Klarius part of React) gave the most problems. The gaskets are the same for both!

Here is the picture of the troublesome joint

Druid I have the option for a special flange gasket, but could use the paste post cat'.
