what is the best offset for 17" rims on 2008 toyota auris?

I'm pretty sure that a lot of oem Auris wheels are 50 though.

& of course wheel width comes into it too.

Depends on what you're after. Stock look or something more fat. Mine are 17x8 ET35 on the front and rears are 17x8,5 ET30. Check the pics out here!

17"×8 or 17"×7. I want an oem offset because I read that if the offset is off it can make the steering too light or heavy

which was? If you want to run x8" you will need to run a lower offset than with x7".

& with either don't forget to tell your insurer about the modification.
