Clutch Adjustment

Hi Folks,

Just got my very first Aygo. Fun! Wondering if anyone can advise though, the clutch is very high. Not particularly the biting point just physically high. It is a good inch higher than the brake pedal. Can this be easily adjusted?

Cheers

Hello Ade and welcome to the board, surprised no-one has answered you yet. Believe your clutch is cable operated with the adjustment being down at the gearbox end. There's a good link from another post on here to show you how to adjust it. http://www.c1oc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=560&p=61817&hilit=Clutch+pedal+adjustment#p61817

Be careful when adjusting the cable in an attempt to lower the pedal height as this can result on damage to the clutch friction plate, if the cable is too tight it pulls the friction plate onto the flywheel all the time wearing the plate out quickly. Only use the adjuster on the pedal (see picture) to adjust the pedal height. The clutch pedal must measure between 161-171mm from the carpet see picture (RHD pedal height) once adjusted ther cable needs adjusting to ensure there is 13-23mm of pedal free play before resistance can be felt on the pedal see picture (RHD free play)

Hi Devon, are you confident about the 161 to 171mm measurement? I just checked mine and I have around 120 so thought it was miles out but then saw my brake pedal to be even lower at 110mm! To set my clutch to the spec you posted would put it at least 60mm above my brake which I would find a nightmare to use (I am 6'1" and find the clutch could be lower as it is!). Unless of course my brake pedal is also miles out...
