Dominic,

Welcome to the forum. Good choice of car if I say so myself, even on the congested streets of Leeds where I will be going tonight, although Morley isn't too bad for traffic.

I am part ex ing mine shortley but it has been an excellent car and very enjoyable, eswpecially the keyless entry bit, although I do keep trying to get in my wife's Prius without 'blipping' the doors unlocked.

Enjoy the car and the forum.

Regards

Mereside

Hello Mate

Welcome to the CLUB

It is nice car in grey and with keyless entry. The alloys are in fact attractive.

As vissible the wheel shape is a bit recognised - correct?

Enjoy it. Petrol or diesel? Cheers/Igor

It is a nice looking car and so far I have resisted but you never know!!!

Igor - I can only think that the wheel shape allows a bit more leg room if the wheel is in the lower position. Who remembers the first Austin Allegro's???

Yes Anchorman

You're correct with more space for legs.

But as vissible those are normal tyres, but no spare wheel availble? Or it is special integration for the UK ?

Cheers/Igor

hi dominic

very nice rav4,...something looks odd though, its the way it is,but it looks odd to me though.

on bottom r/h side of backdoor under 'rav4' Badge, the cutaway bit to allow back door to open fully looks like a design error.

dont get me wrong...lovely motor, but that looks.....unfinished,not very well thought out to me

enjoy your rav4,many years of reliable, pleasurable motoring await you

Cheers Rambler. I hadn't even noticed the area you mention. As you say, what looks weird to one person doesn't even register with another. Could be a bit of a design compromise. It is a lovely vehicle. My first Rav after trading my Auris T180 in for it. I wanted the extra space, a slightly higher driving position and something a bit softer than the Auris. Only done 100 miles in it, but it was deffo the right decision and I look forwardto many miles of happy Rav ownership.

Hi Igor

All UK spec vehicles now come with no spare wheel and a puncture repair kit.

Not sure if they are new style side steps, my first Rav so not sure what the others looked like. They do finish it off well though I reckon.

hi Anchorman

what is this kit consists of? It is not easy to repair tyre on the road having no special tools -- or am I mistaken?

Just guide me/

You add sealant to the tyre via the valve from an aerosol tin. You then inflate the tyre with a 12 volt compressor. It works on the assumption that the majority of punctures are due to an object in the tyre that can be temporarily sealed.

Those steps, billed as 'Stylish steps' have been listed on the AIM site for some time and I have a feeling they may also fit the original 4.3 but best to check with Kingo.

There are two part numbers, depending on whether wing mouldings are fitted or not:

PZ415-X2904-00 [No mouldings]

PZ415-X2903-00 [With mouldings]
