Sat Nav Warning Message

TWO QUESTIONS:

1. Does anybody know if it's possible to bypass the standard warning message (IE "Don't use when driving and keep an eye on the road", all that crap) that comes up annoyingly everytime you switch the engine on?

2. Also, how do you change the clock on the Sat Nav? I've changed the car computer's clock back in October but the estimated arrival time on the display always shows an hour later. It can get confusing when checking how far you have to go!

Thanks.

(No offence but... ) have you tried RTFM?? (On mine, the TNS300, the manual is quite thick.. (like me..!)

If you don't have the manual then post the model number...

With mine, TNS300, the irritating message comes when the satnav knows from the speedo cable that you are moving... It is possible to disconnect it BUT that has the disadvantage that it doesn't know where it is going from the gyro-compass (oh, yes!) and the speedo-cable in the few seconds/minutes before the GPS satellites lock-in...

- and, eg, if going through a tunnel with a bend in it will be lost fro a but when you come out the other side...

Have a look here .

Thanks but that's not what I mean. When I switch the ignition on it's usually displaying the audio screen. As soon as I switch to the navigation screen it displays a warning message on the screen about driving whilst using the navigation system. In the left corner is a language button and in the right corner a button to 'accept' the warning and ONLY THEN can you use that navigation system.

The manual does not give advice on how to avoid seeing this message every time.

It would be a technician level cheat to disable it I'd imagine.

The warning message is designed not to be deleted in order to protect the manufacturer from the litigation lawyers in case of an accident.

On my system the time is set by going to Menu, then Set up and selecting the Time Zone ie GMT and it then diplays the correct time and compensates to BST and back. Check to see if yours is on the correct zone.

Sorted thanks fitter!

Shame about the message, never mind huh? Thanks for the advice ref the speed according to the nav system- set cruise to 50 on a dual carriageway yesterday and it was steady at about 47, seems I have a tiny amount of leeway.

Thanks again folks.

6-7% error seems about normal.

by law they are allowed to overread (by iirc upto 10%) but not underread.
