Japanese Vitz Head Unit

Hi,

I have a Japanese Vitz, with the interior almost exactly to this one:

The head unit is the same as shown. I would like to change that, but found no help anywhere. The guides here are for the European Yaris only :(

I guess I need some sort of an adaptor to change from the proprietary Toyota format to a DIN, while hopefully not destorying the dashboard look. Anybody here has any idea of what I can do and where to buy the required components? (preferably from the Internet as I'm not in the UK.

My problem is that all the guides seem to refer to stock head units with a sort of a slot in them, like this: http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.p...=20&t=21168

My head unit is completely different, like the one I linked to in the first post. I guess I need some sort of fascia to do it but can't find any :(

It's the same as the european one only slightly different shape, so what works here will work for you. Go back to reading the stickies. The dash should come apart the same way.

the surround you will get from your local toyota dealer, this will make it into a double din unit. If you want a single din you may have a bit of trouble finding the inner unit to convert it, unless someone here knows where they are sold on the net, otherwise you will need to pop into your local audio store as the single din fits most toyotas so there should only be the one.
