Programing Key.

Hi guys just a quick question i found a spare remote key in my glove box for the t sport but it don't work. Is there a way to programme it myself or is it a dealer visit..

Hi Shredder

Does the key start the engine? If it does then the key is recognised by the immobilizer. If it's the remote central locking that doesn't work, try sitting in the car, having opened it with the other remote. Press lock and unlock repeatedly. This should resynchronise the remote to the car. It can take ten tries before you get a response. After that there is a special sequence of door openings etc. Try the key first, if that fails post back with your model number from the VIN plate and I'll look up the sequence for you. Model number will be something like ZZE121. Regards Ray

Cheers guys ill give it a try at the weekend and see what happens if it starts the car ill try the unlock lock thing if not ill pm you my details.

May be stating the obvious but......does the LED on the key light up when you push lock/unlock? It could just be the Battery! :o

Ok tried the key and it opens and closes the central locking but dont start the engine. hummmmmmm.

sounds like the immobiliser chip is out of sequence.
