Hi,

Can anyone tell me what I've let myself into? Get the Rav tomorrow can't wait. It may be 8 years old but it's it immaculate condition and only done 47333 miles. Also can anyone tell me if there is such a thing that cant stop making to boot so visible?, is there a accessory like this like cars have?

Thank you

Mo

A very nice car, should give you many years of economical driving. Good luck

You'll love it. Mine is just over 9 years old and drives like new! I love it more and more as time goes on.

I've got privacy windows so the boot is not a problem. I recently had the windows redone - I think it cost about £120.

Enjoy your new car. Please post a piccy if you can.

Hi Sally,

Thank you for your post, yes I can't wait to tomorrow, everyone thinks I'm mad as I'm giving up my 06 plate mitsubushi colt czc convertible for this.................!! :P

But I've always liked this wee 4x4 and it was is in the right place at the right time, also I'm just in recovery after breast cancer, so life is going to be alot different and this is my first change. I will post a pic as soon as, it's also Red like yours...........

Bye for now

Hi Mo and welcome to TOC, I may be wrong but I dont think the Mk1 came with a parcel shelf. Having said that,

there was a member on here who made one for a Mk2. So if you do a search for ideas then if you are handy or

know some one who is, it aint too hard. Good luck and hope your new Rav perks you up.

Nope, not us, I don't think there is anybody on here would call you mad.

Anyway, even if you are, you'll probably know that we usually accommodate the odd nutter. :D.

Welcome Morawa and we definitely want pics of the RAV please!

Hi Mo,

Let us know how you're getting on.

You'll find the Rav driving position excellent after the Colt. I find it very comfortable even though the Mk1 seats are quite basic. It is also so easy to get in out out of which is very important for you during your recovery.

Gawd! Another RAV driver with a 4.1 in Glasgow! What a dream.......

Mo - I'll give you a shout when I get my 2 RAVs back from the garage - number 1 is sitting patiently waiting to have its system checked out - nothing wrong as such, but cos I use it for drag style quarter miles, there seems to be a limiter on its top speed!

Number 2 is in its final stages of getting a turbo engine fitted, but apart from that, is in original condition and a nice specimen.

Once you've got used to driving yours, you could have a try with the turbo engine!!

The 4.1 model never had a boot cover as it was designed with the 2 rear seats individually reclining or folding away, and at the time (1994) it was seen as a fun sporty car with some off road ability. The standard for similar cars - Suzuki/Daihatsu etc - didn't figure a rear shelf/cover I don't think. Its with the more recent publicity to hide yer possessions in the boot that people start looking for a cover. As has been said, its not too difficult to make one up - or you could try modifying a roller blind (to run horizontal - not for the back window!! Think ahm daft??

Enjoy the car and if you need to ask anything, you know where to come!

Hi Everyone,

Thank you very much for your kind replies etc, well my wee Rav is going great!!!!!! Will post photo soon as................... May I ask if anyone has a spare owners manual kicking about that you no longer have use for? I'm more than willing to pay for it and postage, if anyone can help I would be most grateful.

Hope your all well,

Mo x
