hello peeples ;)

didnt think i would be posting a fault code so soon after me last one but there we go, cars are surprising lil booties aint they ;)

anyway the topic title and description ses it all :) Just wondered if any of you long term RAV owners have come across this one before, and if so what was the cause and what was the outcome.

As some of you know the last time our Rav was with Mr T she was with em for 3 weeks and cost the warranty company £4k to get the problem(s) fixed.

We have had a few months of happy motoring since the repairs and more since the chip was fitted, but this last week she has been stuttering a bit, bit laggy and not pulling so well when accelerating. My OH was planning on tweaking the chip a lil just to see if that improved things, but then the engine management light came on and the obd11 reader came up with the p0627 code.

I am sure you can all apprecia\te, i would like to get the lowdown on this BEFORE i contact Mr T as they are so uselees in Plymouth lol ta peeps x

Hi Pinky

Sorry you have been plagued with problems but if you get this fixed you should be pretty well back to "as new". This came up very recently;

http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=81818

The code points mainly to scv valves but here is the complete list;

0627.jpg

This is an easy job for your OH whom I know is very capable from your previous posts. It involves unplugging and unscrewing the valves out of the back of the pump. They cost £185.30 from Kingo and that is all in to your door. The part No is 04221-27011. I have to say pinky that this is the usual cause and the valves are the usual cure but please don't shoot the messenger if this one turns out to be a red herring (shouldn't be!).

As this pops up from time to time I would really like some digital photos of the process. If your OH wouldn't mind do you think he would take some? He can do a maintenance tip or give me the photos and I will do it in the not too distant future.

Good luck and regards

aw wicked one hun, fanku for the info, my OH has been researching also and ses he may change the relay in the footwell first to see if this solves the problem, however if it is anything further then its back to Mr T as we still have 7 months of our warranty left......bearing in mind the RAV has covered over 92k miles I guess we have bought her at a time when parts on her will be close to the end of their lifetime, so having the 12 mth warranty could well be the cash saver for us ;)

the fuel pump and valves are covered by the warranty, my OH has decreased the power adjustment on the chip by 2 turns so will see if this makes any differences to the power lag problem ;)

it didn't so we took the chip off today, doesnt seem to have made any difference :(

so back to Mr T yet again...best this is the last problem as we are off to Amsterdam in her in July :)

as an update, we reset the code and were going to take it into Mr T, but strangely enough its been fine for the last 4 days no problems and no engine management light........we were thinking that we coulda had a dodgy fuel fill, filled her right up to toppers in the last fill b4 the problem (at Sainsburys as per usual) was 3/4 tank of fuel we put in, prior to that we just been bunging 10 or 20 quid in as and when we had the cash on us and since that fill have done the same as usual a couple of times (only this time at a more expensive filling station)

anyway its just a thought and as we have a lull in eml activity we are going to hold off going to mr T unless it pops on again or we have the problem without the light ;)

After a quick visit to Mr T during which time they kindly washed and vac'd the RAV, we have been advised that a fuel pump suction valve needs replacing....so we are now waiting warranty approval and RAV will be back with Mr T in a few days (hopefully) :)
